TrailMix - Dirt Trail Finder

1. Zoom and GPS controls

Use the top-left controls to zoom the map or jump to your current location with the GPS button.

2. Boundary drawing tool

Use the draw and erase tools to sketch a region directly on the map when you want tighter random loop control.

3. Map layer controls

Use this button to switch between the default map and satellite map.

4. Hillshade toggle

Toggle the hillshade overlay to reveal terrain shape and quickly read ridges and valleys.

5. Steepness toggle

Toggle the steepness overlay to highlight harder gradients while planning climbs and descents.

6. Rating toggle

Toggle trail rating markers on or off.

7. Route summary bar

The bottom-left route bar shows total distance and trail percentage so you can quickly judge the current route quality.

8. Trail width slider

Use this slider to adjust trail line thickness so details stay clear at your current zoom level.

9. Sidebar search

Search for an address here to jump the map to a specific start location.

10. Random loop controls

Set a target distance and generate a random loop from your current area.

11. Manual routing on map

Click directly on the map to add route points manually and shape the route exactly where you want to ride.

12. Avoid private segments

Enable this toggle to keep routes away from private segments when possible.

13. Bicycle access filter

Turn this on to prioritize segments that are explicitly accessible by bicycle.

14. Maximize verts

Use this to favor routes with more climbing and descending.

15. Wanderlust slider

Move this slider to balance direct routing versus dirt-focused exploration.

16. Minimum rating

Enable and set a minimum trail rating to bias the route toward better-rated segments.

17. Loop back

Close the current route back to its starting point.

18. Alternative last segment

Request a different path for only the final segment of your route.

19. Alternative route

Generate a full alternative route between your current points.

20. Route edit actions

Clear the full route or undo the last route point while editing.

21. GPX actions

Import an existing GPX route or export your current route to GPX.

27. Legend panel

The legend shows trail categories and lets you toggle each category on or off.

28. Elevation panel

The elevation panel shows the route profile so you can assess climbs and descents.

22. Auto-load checkbox

Enable this to automatically refresh trails whenever the map view changes.

23. Reload trails in view button

Use this button to reload trails for the current map view immediately.

24. Clear cache button

Use this to clear cached trails and immediately reload fresh data for the current area.

25. Clear personal data button

Use this to remove saved personal route data from this device.

26. Strava heatmap import

Import your Strava heatmap file here to compare visited and unvisited routes.

29. Install button

Use this button to add TrailMix to your home screen for quick access.

30. Route workflow tips

After learning the map controls, add route points, use the left panel filters, and import or export GPX when you are ready to save your ride.
